If you look closely at the edges of the roof panel, you can see the sidewall flashing (left) and the gable-end flashing (right) installed. The sidewall flashing is a (mostly) L-shaped piece of flashing which channels water from the meeting of the dormer and roof panel to the bottom edge of the roof. The gable-end flashing is very much like the drip-edge flashing on the front edge of each roof section, but in addition to protecting the fascia board, it also protects *over* the edge of the roof to prevent water from getting under the panel on the gable-end side.
